2D Animated Short Film (3 Minutes)

As a child tries to explain what’s happening in his drawing to his mother, the audience is transported into the drawing. His character Baby Space Bunny gets impacted by all the sudden changes that the child makes to his story and hilarity ensues.
"Baby Space Bunny" was my 4th year thesis project for completing my BA in Animation, Motion Graphics and VFX at MTU Kerry, Ireland. It’s a 2D mixed media short film that I wanted children to be entertained by, something that was short, sweet and a little bit stupid.
I was the director, story boarder, script writer, animator, layout artist and production manager on the film. I first created the character when I was about 8 years old for a school project and I knew that I wanted to use it to inspire children to continue to be imaginative and creative with their own work.

Above are some of the trackers I made and used to keep track of every asset in the film. I enjoyed seeing thing laid out and even made my own trackers on my bedroom wall and above my desk.
I even had the amazing opportunity to screen the film at a local school to gather feedback from kids as at this point in the production, I was really worried that the film wasn't going to click. It went really well and the kids enjoyed asking me questions. At one point I asked the kids if there was anything that they thought I should change to the film, and one responded with “ No, it’s absolutely great, move on with your dreams”. I’d like to think that they meant “keep going”
