Role: Production Manager
2D Animated Short Film
October 2023 - May2024

In a monochromatic futuristic city, a graffiti artist tries to find the perfect place to paint her masterpiece before she gets captured and eliminated by the ruler of the city, THE SCREEN.

"Paint It!" was my first opportunity to be a production manager. I worked on this short film while in my third year at Seneca College. For about 6 months our team consisted of 15 people and their hard work helped to have the final product we have today.

My responsibilities were (not limited to) strategizing, problem solving, supervising and streamlining our production. Production Sheets, Monthly Schedules, Department Trackers, Scheduling Meetings and Planning Group Trips, Outings and Group Work Weekends were all things I organized and planned out for the benefit of the team.

I stride to make things clear and easy to read at a glance so that people are not confused. So I used a simpler more familiar system that people would be comfortable using, Google Drive and Discord became our main communication tool and hubs for information needed for the project.

Monthly Production Schdeule- March to April
General Overview of Discord Server
Master Shot List- Updated Weekly to track the status of each shot
Layout Tracker- Updated Bi-Weekly
Animation Tracker- Updated Bi-Weekly

I helped the team and leads in their roles by hosting weekly meetings, reviewing production progress, motoring everyone's mental health and problem solving along the way. Even stepping up at times to be a lead myself to help alleviate stress and fill gaps in the production.

Here are some examples of the trackers we used to keep up to date on everything!

My goal was to make the team as uniformed and happy as possible. I tried to help empower team members by praising their work, giving out golden star stickers, planning surprises as tasks were completed, got everyone active with "JUST DANCE" and helped to schedule breaks or off days for team members to avoid burnout, exhaustion and conflicts.

Overall I strive to be as courteous and understanding to all and their abilities and to adjust the production accordingly. Life cannot be anticipated nor controlled so having one more day to do a shot or even working from home is okay! Clear communication was built and maintained throughout the team and I could not be prouder!
